Fire Damper Inspection & Testing

Fire dampers are an essential ductwork component where a system passes through a fire compartment floor or wall. They are traditionally held open by fusible links which operates the damper should the link be exposed to extreme heat, such as a fire.

Through annual inspection and testing, you are able to maintain your fire dampers in a service condition, reducing the risk of fire spreading through your building should the worst happen.

There are many reasons for a fire damper failing to close when called upon:

  • Poor installation
  • Wear & tear on the spring operation
  • Debris blocking the full function of the fire damper
  • Damage to the damper blades
  • Damage to the fusible link

Any of the above could cause the fire damper to fail.

Duct Hygiene will provide a detailed site report, detailing the condition and serviceability of each fire damper and rectify any issues found at time of inspection & test. Leaving you with peace of mind and compliant.
